Trelily - why the re-brand?

Hope you are all rested and recovered from the festive period!

Well 2020 was a year of many changes and 2021 is hopefully a time to re-set.

We have some important news to share with you.

We have decided to re-brand Treaty Jewellery. First and foremost please rest assured there will be no change to our beautiful, unique, sustainable Jewellery, everything remains entirely unchanged with the exception of the name. The same skilled artisans, the same high quality materials, the same centuries old jewellery production methods and all still Ethically sourced and produced.

We have made this decision in light of correspondence that we have received regarding the name Treaty, it has been brought to our attention that the word for some is synonymous with indigenous peoples struggles both in this country and others and may have caused hurt and distress.

As a business who pride themselves on our Ethical approach to all aspects of what we do, it would be unprincipled of us to continue using the name now we have been made aware of this. If our name was to cause even one person offence or distress then our choice was simple and it needed to be changed.

Our Jewellery is intended to be a source of joy and delight, Jewellery you could wear with pride in knowing who made it and the whole ethics behind the production and our business.
